To add to this process of discovery, Joanne Menard ND, will provide an optional adrenal stress test & test your bodies pH levels before and after the challenge to look at how the body has changed. This option will be offered for an additional $80 +hst. More details on the Naturopathic Package.
A mandatory Meet N' Greet held Sunday evening, October 30 before the challenge (time TBA). We strongly advise all participants to attend. We will go over the "rules and regulations", things to expect and some tips on how to make it through. Most importantly it gives you the opportunity to ask questions and meet your fellow challengers.
After the Meet N' Greet, Dr. Menard will explain the importance of acid-alkaline balance in the body, how to properly test to determine your body’s pH level, and how to balance your pH by eating the right foods. You will be sent home with a month’s supply of pH paper to test to see how stress, yoga and eating properly affects your day-to-day pH readings.
All participants who successfully complete the challenge will be entered in a draw to win a 4 Month Unlimited Pass among other prizes! This draw will take place at the celebration potluck Sunday Dec 4 (time TBA).

Koenisburg Test (Urinary Adrenal Stress Test)
The Koenisburg Test is used as a reliable measurement of adrenal stress or fatigue. This test determines if your adrenal glands are in a state of hypofunction (adrenal fatigue), hyperfunction (adrenal stress) or normal.
Adrenal Fatigue can lead to:
chronic fatigue
chronic inflammations
a weakened immune system
problems with PMS
difficulties with blood pressure
insomnia and allergies
reduced sex drive
Adrenal stress (adrenal hyperfunction) can lead to:
weight gain around the middle
sugar cravings
binge eating

The earlier adrenal imbalances are cleared up, the more rapidly energy levels return to normal.
The Koenisburg test will be performed before you begin your month-long yoga challenge to determine the baseline state of your adrenal glands. Dr. Menard will also provide you with lifestyle changes to help you balance your adrenal hormones in conjunction with your daily yoga exercises. The Koenisburg test will then be repeated at the end of your month-long challenge to determine the benefit that your adrenal glands have received from participating in yoga on a daily basis.
Learn to Properly Test your Body’s pH Levels
Our bodies need to maintain optimal pH values for good health. But we produce more acids than we excrete as we grow older, depositing them in our joints, blood vessel walls and tissues.
A body that is too acidic is more likely to develop the following health conditions:

About Dr. Menard
Dr. Joanne Menard graduated with first-class standing from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Life Sciences in 2002. She then completed four years of medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, graduating in 2006.
Dr. Menard has a true passion for healthy living and believes it is important to provide individualized treatments to each of her patients. She feels it is an honour to be part of a person’s path to wellness and optimal health. As a primary health care provider she has experience treating a wide spectrum of conditions and has a special interest in cardiovascular health (high blood pressure and cholesterol), digestive health, women’s health (menopause, fertility, pre- and post-natal care, pre-birth acupuncture) and pediatrics.
Dr. Menard is a licensed naturopathic physician with additional training and certification in acupuncture and is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the British Columbia Naturopathic Association and the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia.
Dr. Menard lives in Chilliwack with her husband and their young daughter. She maintains a part-time practice at the Sardis Naturopathic Medical Clinic in Chilliwack and is currently accepting new patients.
